The Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine is located at 38 Cathedral Place between Charlotte and St. George Streets.
If you have ever wondered what is behind the scenes at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine, the symbolism and history of America’ Oldest Parish, now is your chance to take, “A Walk Through History.”
Take a guided tour of the public and not so public locations within the church. Tour stops include the choir loft, sacristy, confessional, baptistery, chapel and more.
You will see copies of 16th century documents, (the oldest documents in the New World), learn the stories behind the stained-glass windows, the Stations of the Cross, the bishop’s coat of arms in the rafters, the murals, the three burials within the church and more.
Tours will be Monday – Friday and Sunday at 1:00 pm

The Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine is located at 38 Cathedral Place between Charlotte and St. George Streets.The structure itself took over five years (1793–1797) to complete and was designated a U.S. National Historic Landmark on April 15, 1970. The congregation of The Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine was established in 1565, making the oldest Christian congregation in the contiguous United States. Prior to COVID-19, tourists flocked to the Cathedral, making it one of the most revered sites in St. Augustine.
