On Friday, May 10th University of Florida’s Florida Friendly Program and Center for Landscape Conservation Planning will be tabling at the Ribera Lot on St. George Street from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
Learn what type of Florida native plants you can plant in your landscape that are more resilient to floods, salt spray and climate change, and what changes you can make in your landscape to improve your yards flood resiliency by capturing stormwater. Claire Lewis is the Interim Director and Statewide Florida-Friendly Communities Coordinator for UF/IFAS Extension Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Program. Claire’s current job responsibilities include educational outreach to local governments, building professionals, and community decision makers across the state to provide educational programing to Floridians about sustainable landscape practices and encourage builders, developers, and HOAs to implement the Florida-Friendly Landscaping principles in their communities in order to preserve and protect Florida’s water and natural resources.

Isabella Guttuso Browne is the Urban and Recreational Green Infrastructure Coordinator for the Center for Landscape Conservation Planning at the University of Florida’s Department of Landscape Architecture. As a landscape designer, she is experienced in resilient native landscaping solutions and green infrastructure strategies for communities at large.
